PORTAGE, MI — November 7, 2008 - Manatron, Inc. the nation’s leading provider of integrated, enterprise-level property solutions for state and local governments, announced that it has acquired the CountyWorks government software operation of Nex-Tech, Inc., a Kansas-based solutions provider. CountyWorks will join Manatron’s InfiniTec Division in Hays, Kansas and with this acquisition, Manatron strengthens its solutions for Kansas’ local government officials.
“The acquisition of CountyWorks not only strengthens our client presence in Kansas, but also strengthens our team by adding three individuals—Bill Turman, Amber Hagerman and Neil Offutt—with vast knowledge and expertise of the Kansas market,” said Bill McKinzie, Manatron President and CEO. “CountyWorks provides very solid products and services, in addition to customer support that is second to none. We are extremely excited to work with this team.”
“By teaming up with Manatron, CountyWorks strengthens its ability to continue to meet the needs of its customers well into the future,” added Bill Turman. “We are excited about the doors this partnership could open for our customers.”
“This acquisition provides the financial strength, people and product innovation to aggressively address the growing demands of this market,” continued McKinzie. “Our InfiniTec office will continue to be the base for our Kansas operation, and Bill, Amber and Neil will be instrumental in driving our combined operation forward.”
“When Manatron approached Nex-Tech about purchasing CountyWorks, we immediately considered the potential benefits this partnership could bring to Kansas government entities, as well as the positive impact it could have on economic development efforts in Hays,” commented Jeff Wick, Nex-Tech Chief Operating Officer. “Our hope is that Manatron will continue to expand its Hays office.”
Additionally, Nex-Tech has contracted with Manatron to provide hardware technology services for Manatron across the state of Kansas. “Manatron specializes in government software and Nex-Tech has a division that specializes in hardware services. So it’s the perfect match. Our customers will continue to see many familiar faces and some new ones too,” said Travis Rozean, Director of Operations.
“Our two companies will work together to provide the “One Stop Shop” service that our customers are used to,” continued Rozean. “This joint effort combines more than 50 Kansans that have excellent experience in government technology. With all this local experience, we hope the State considers us for future projects such as the Motor Vehicle Information Processing System (VIPS).”
