2008 OMUG Meeting

Manatron sponsored the 3rd annual Ohio User Group Meeting September 15th and 16th this year.  Over 133 clients, employees and vendors braved the hurricane winds, downed power lines and trees to attend the conference at the Kalahari Resort in Sandusky Ohio.  Monday evening we gathered together for some fun and entertainment.  A group called Creative Rhythm held a drumming event where we all participated, played instruments and danced.  Rhonda Eddy, Allen County Auditor was unstoppable dancing in the middle of the drum circle with Nick Toerner, Manatron (aka Richard Dawson from OMUG 2007).   We had a great time relaxing and socializing with our Ohio clients!

Tuesday began with a general session featuring Jill Engle, Wood County Treasurer and Karen Young, Wood County Chief Deputy Auditor sharing their secrets to a successful settlement.  They reviewed the process Wood County uses to perform a successful Settlement in MVP with excellent communication between the Auditor and Treasurer staff.

Manatron planned three breakout sessions each geared toward a specific group.   We would like to extend special thanks to the following users for their willingness to participate in your Ohio Conference.

Bonnie Makowski, Geauga County
Nedra Schaefer, Geauga County
Teresa Short, Fulton County
Robin Thomas, Cuyahoga County
Jill Engle, Wood County
Karen Young, Wood County
Rhonda Eddy, Allen County – OMAC Secretary
Kelly Tennant, Delaware County – OMAC Chair Person

It is great to gather the user community to share ideas and gain new perspectives.  We have reviewed all of the feedback from the attendees and are excited about planning OMUG for Fall, 2009.  The Ohio MVP Advisory Council team will be very involved with the planning next year so if you have ideas or suggestions please bring them to the next OMAC meeting.  We hope to see you all there.

OMAC Update

The Ohio MVP Advisory Council held a quarterly onsite meeting September 15th at the Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, Ohio.  15 Ohio Counties were represented at the meeting with over 40 attendees.  Kelly Tennant, OMAC Chairperson, led the meeting with a nomination and election for the position of OMAC Secretary.  Rhonda Eddy, Allen County Auditor was elected as OMAC Secretary. She assigned Amber Martin, Allen County as the primary contact for administrative functions for the User Group.

The meeting continued from 10am until 4pm and covered the following agenda items:

• Introduction of newly elected OMAC members
• Approval of prior meeting minutes
• Subcommittee formed to review and submit updated OMAC By-Laws
• Manatron update
• Release Plan 2009
• Version 400 – October 2008
• MVP compliance with SQL 2005 and Vista
• Review of upcoming functional specs for OMAC
• HB138 expectations
• Prioritization and ranking of OMAC CER spreadsheet

Several CERs were submitted from the floor. The group shared positive and productive discussions.

The next OMAC meeting is scheduled to be held mid October.  Amber Martin, Allen County will send a meeting request to all Ohio Manatron clients with the details.

The Ohio MVP Advisory Council was a fantastic Kick-Off for the Ohio Manatron User Group Meeting September 16th!

Manatron Celebrates Its 25th Successful MVP OH Installation

Muskingham County went live on Manatron MVP OH in late May. The installation marked the 25th client in Ohio to be running MVP and was completed within 90 days of the contract signing.

“The Manatron team kept us involved and updated in all aspects of the conversion process.  I believe this personal attention allowed for a much smoother transition," said Anita J. Adams, Muskingum County Auditor. "In addition, we have benefited greatly from Manatron’s OMUG meetings which are informative and a unique way to communicate with other Manatron clients. It also provides an outlet for ideas and improvements to the systems functionality.”
