Director’s Message
Hello to all! I hope everyone made it through the New Year just fine. It always seems to be a busy time of year. The last nine months have been very busy and exciting for InfiniTec, Nex-Tech, and Manatron. To bring everyone up to speed, Manatron acquired InfiniTec in July and Nex-Tech in November. All three companies came together at the perfect time for our customers.
Since 2007, we have witnessed increasing demand for Microsoft Windows based solutions from our Kansas customers. While, to this day, many Counties are happy with their IBM iSeries solutions, we felt it was necessary to create a Kansas company that would support the needs of all Kansas Counties. We realize each County has different needs and we absolutely want to continue to be that “One Stop Shop” for these different needs. This is where our acquisition by Manatron really pays off; Manatron already has state-of-the-art Microsoft Windows based software solutions running in almost every State in the United States and other Countries. Here in Kansas, Sedgwick and Douglas Counties will “Go Live” in just a few months using Manatron’s Government Revenue Management (GRM) solution for property tax assessment, billing and collection. Manatron’s Microsoft-based solutions have more than 25 million dollars in research and development behind them and Manatron continues to invest at a pace unmatched in our industry.
So why would Manatron not just try to compete against InfiniTec and Nex-Tech if their solutions are so great? It really comes down to the people. Combined, InfiniTec and Nex-Tech have many HUNDREDS of years of Kansas local government tax and software experience. Every employee from these two companies lives in Kansas. Some of the employees even worked for Counties in the past as Appraisers, etc. Manatron acquired InfiniTec and Nex-Tech for many reasons with the local government expertise being number one. Manatron realizes how important it is to have that local State experience.
Over the past 9 months the three companies have come together to learn and compare the solutions in place in Kansas and we are excited about all of the different options we can offer. Believe me when I say we can take care of you. Right now, we are working on creating Kansas-specific templates for Manatron’s various software solutions. We realize that Kansas customers don’t necessarily want nor need everything that Manatron’s solutions can offer. These Kansas templates will help keep our implementations simple and affordable, but also allow our Counties to add many new features. If you prefer to stay on your IBM iSeries solutions, this coming year you will find the best of both worlds coming together with InfiniTec and Nex-Tech AS400 solutions.
Realizing how important the Kansas customers are to Manatron, Bill McKinzie (CEO), Early Stephens (EVP Corporate Strategy & CTO), and Kurt Wagner (EVP Operations) plan to attend the regional Kansas User Group Conference May 19th through the 21st in Topeka Kansas. Please try to join us to learn more about your current solutions, new solutions, and Manatron’s long term direction. Many familiar faces will be there, with some new ones too. We expect the conference registration to max out, so be sure to sign up as soon as you can. We have already booked 50% of our registration capacity.
In closing, I want to emphasize that more than anything we appreciate your continued business. Not only will we continue to take care of all of your hardware technology needs, but we are bringing our combined professional services, software, and GIS solutions to higher levels -- offering stronger integration and much more value to you. I look forward to seeing you at the conference and sharing more with you!
