KALAMAZOO, MI--(PR NEWSWIRE) — September 29, 2006 - Manatron, Inc. (NASDAQ: MANA) a leading provider of software products and services for local governments, including the Government Revenue Management® (GRM®) software, today announced that it has received a contract from Oconee County, South Carolina for its CAMA (Computer Aided Mass Appraisal) software. The contract also includes integration of Manatron’s CAMA software to other critical County business processes, such as their Geographical Information System (GIS), permitting, work order management, and tax billing and collection.
Oconee County is located in the Northwestern area of South Carolina, on the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The County is one of 46 counties in the state of South Carolina with an estimated population of 70,000 and is located in one of the fastest growing areas in the United States. To keep pace with this level of growth, Oconee County embarked on a major program to over haul all of its critical information technology systems, including its CAMA system.
Leslie Smith, the Oconee County Assessor of Property commented, “Oconee County with its beautiful lakes and mountain ranges has been discovered by the rest of the world and explosive growth will be the result. In order to plan for and keep pace with this growth from both an assessment and land planning perspective, acquiring the tools available through the development and integration of modern CAMA and GIS systems are, in my opinion, an absolute necessity. The decision of County Council to be proactive and take the steps necessary to acquire this technology at this time is to be commended as evidence of visionary leadership.”
"Oconee County is the second significant CAMA contract win for Manatron in South Carolina during calendar 2006 and another new account for us,” said Paul Sylvester, Manatron’s Chief Executive Officer. “We are starting to gain some momentum in South Carolina, which is a new market for Manatron. Our software is the most widely deployed and nationally recognized CAMA system available today, running in over 300 jurisdictions in 19 states and two Canadian territories. We are confident that it will meet the needs of Oconee County and allow them to serve their constituents accurately and fairly for many years. We are grateful for this opportunity and look forward to working with Oconee County.”
