Court Corner
In response to many customer requests, we have added the following features to the Municipal Court Software:
• Estimated Fines This feature allows you to enter standard fines into the offense table. These standard fines will appear on the posting screen when entering tickets.
The estimated fine can be manually entered when posting tickets rather than using the standard fine from the offense table. When a disposition is posted, the estimated fines are discarded and the actual fine will be used from then on. You may also print a report of estimated fines. Using the estimated fine feature is not required unless you use n-Court for internet payments (see paragraph below); but it is useful to have the standard fine listed so that it is available to non-court clerk employees who need to accept payment of fines when the Court Clerk is not available.
In addition, this feature allows you to include the estimated fine and court costs when you submit suspensions to the State electronically so that the fees are included in the Suspension Letter sent to the Offender.
• Voided Tickets
This feature allows you to enter tickets that have been voided into a separate table from the posted tickets. A new Ticket Number List report allows you to print a list of all tickets (including voided) in ticket number order.
• n-Court
We have partnered with n-Court to allow online credit card payment of tickets. The offender must pay a “convenience fee” when submitting credit card payments.
If you are interested in this feature, please contact n-Court for more information. You can find contact information on their website at www.ncourt.com.
• Other Charge Trial Balance
This is a new report that lists other charges (reinstatement fees, diversions, etc.) that are still owed to you.
• Sending and Receiving of State Reports
Now archives the responses from the state. Archiving allows you to view prior reports and results in the electronic reporting process. This will supplement or replace the need to print out and file results when electronically reporting Court cases to the State.
